Sara has been recognised as a leader in the field of rail transport.  She has been in partnership with Helen Bissell since 1997. She trained at Cameron Markby (as it then was) and has worked within the railway industry since 1985, becoming head of the British Railways Board’s commercial division within its legal department in 1993.

Sara drafts and negotiates many different types of commercial contract for railway industry members, including procurement contracts, shareholders’ agreements and tender documentation. She advises on matters relating to companies limited by guarantee (owned by railway industry members). She has extensive experience with property documentation required for railway infrastructure projects, including freight facilities and station car parks.

She has also developed a non-rail retail practice and receives regular instructions from clients (including coffee and food retailing chains and a charity with a nationwide retail estate) in connection with all aspects of retail leases in high street, shopping malls and railway station locations.

Sara is Honorary Solicitor to the Railway Benefit Fund.
